Weight loss is a massive industry now with millions of dollars being spent on media advertising, health and dietary supplements, gyms memberships – and last but not least, fitness trainers and coaches.
Have you ever thought to ponder why this business is so huge? I mean its not rocket science is it?
We all know that to lose weight it’s just a simple science of eating less calories than we burn. We all know that exercise helps. So why do so many people feel the need to seek outside help when losing weight?
Well, although the science is simple, as with everything in life, its much easier to follow a plan of action that is taught by somebody that has experience in the subject. Even in the case of dieting, following a set routine of meal plans downloaded from the internet may turn out not be personal enough to your own situation, and being able to seek the hands on advice of somebody with experience can certainly mean a lot.
Many people that decide they need to lose weight have not exercised for years and the thought of going to a gym cripples them with intimidation. Many gyms nowadays are state of the art, equipped with a vast range of high-tech machines and have a corner of groaning muscle-men lifting heavy-as-hell weights. Experienced men and women prance around with full confidence in knowing what they are doing and are dressed to impress with the very latest fashionable gym-gear. Who would not be intimidated?
Therefore, you can understand that having somebody that knows what they are talking about to show you the ropes is a nice benefit to have. There is an abundance of information on the internet with regards to dieting and nutrition, but maybe so much that in the end you are left more confused than anything else. Again, it’s good to have a mentor that can assist you in this area. There is also an abundance of personal trainers that can introduce you to different exercise and ensure that you are carrying out the correct exercises in a safe manner. To some degree, these can also give you some extra motivation and accountability.
What they cannot give you however, is the piece that is often overlooked – the psychological aspect. You see, this is the real reason that the industry is so large. As we said, its not rocket science to lose weight. If you eat more healthy foods, consume less calories and embark on an exercise programme then you should lose weight. However, what usually happens is that after a short while, the diet goes to pot or the motivation to attend the gym dwindles down. Think about it – how many people and how many times have you heard ‘I’m going on a diet’ and nothing really happens. Likewise, understand that gyms make most of their money from the constant new subscriptions that pay but then fail to continue to attend, freeing up adequate space for more newbies.
One of the keys to successful fat and/or weight loss is to understand the psychology beneath. Many people are qualified as obese and once they understand how or why they have ended up obese, this can help them to reverse the trend. Many people start off very well on a diet, only to relapse after a short time. They find themselves back binge eating on their favourite savoury or sweet foods. Again, if we can learn why this happens, then we are much more equipped to be able to ensure that we know how to break the pattern. Also with motivation, if we can install a much deeper level of motivation then the focus and persistence will be much stronger, ensuring much more chance of success to achieve our target.
This is what my coaching approach can bring to you and your goal of losing weight. As previously stated, there is an abundance of dietary information and personal fitness trainers, but they are only working for you on the surface level. I know that to change any behaviour requires psychological assistance and this is no different in the changing of eating behaviour and exercise motivation. My coaching consists of all elements: Diet, Exercise and Psychological. All 3 are crucial and without them you are pretty much destined to fail. If you have them then success is within reach, and trust me – the benefits of success in losing weight cannot be overstated. Literally… Change your body – Change your life!

Due to my own personal history in fighting arts, I am no stranger to nutrition and exercise. Couple that with my psychological knowledge and you have the perfect formula and understanding. Furthermore, I have even been through the weight loss process myself in my mid-40’s, losing almost 18% of body weight.
There is no suprise then, that fat loss and weight loss is a very large part of what I do in my coaching services and thus my website promotes this as one of the main subjects. Go to the page by clicking here…
