Issues that are connected to sex can be experienced individually by either men or women, or they may be experienced by both together in a relationship. Regardless of which, these issues can result in a lot of unhappiness and if left for too long can develop into more distress. Sexual problems affect all age groups and are far more common than people think as they are not often shared. The term ‘sexual problems’ covers a variety of issues. Here are some examples:

  • Irrational Shyness (the person experiences extreme shyness and avoids sex as a result)
  • Low Libido (there seems to be an extreme low interest in sex)
  • Erectile Dysfunction (the man finds it difficult to achieve or maintain an erect penis)
  • Premature Ejaculation (the man seems to ejaculate his sperm very early during the sexual experience)
  • Retarded Orgasm (delays or inability to reach orgasm)
  • Sexual Discomfort (the sexual experience is unable to be enjoyed mentally)
  • Sexual Pain (the sexual experience is physically painful)
  • Sexual Addiction (an obsessive and/or excessive level of sex is desired)
  • Sex Abuse –  Please see the section devoted to this hereby clicking here

Sexual disorders can be caused by two major contributors:

1) Medical conditions such as diabetes, hormonal imbalance, kidney/liver disease, drugs and alcohol and side effects of medication like anti-depressants have been widely documented to play a part in some sexual disorders.
2) Psychological issues also have been widely attributed to the existence of sexual disorders.

Help is Here:

The good news is that help is available. As a first point of action, I advise to seek medical assistance to check that there is no obvious medical reason that may be appointing to the sexual problem. If this is negative, or if this has been treated to the doctor’s satisfaction and the issues still persist, then it is more than likely to be connected to a psychological issue.

I have had success in treating sexual problems. The treatment protocol however is variable. Sometimes it can be a simple few sessions or other times it may entail a whole project of sessions. In couples, it is sometimes a requirement to work individually first and then work together as a couple later. Fortunately my tool box of strategies stemming from a range of applications helps me to tackle sexual problems from a wide range of perspectives.

Furthermore, you do not need to be suffering from sexual problems to benefit from ‘sex coaching’. Maybe you already have a normal sex life but would like to enhance it further. This is applicable to individuals who may wish to gain more confidence or improve their performance, or couples who wish to improve their sex life and think an independent coach would make this more helpful.
