Self-Hypnosis and Mind Control
I was first introduced to and learned these techniques via martial arts. I was taught by Mr. John Van Weenen, who was an 8th Dan Karate master, having travelled and trained at a very high level with world-renowned masters, directly in Japan itself. At the time I met John, he had become involved in helping people in a humanitarian role following on from the devastating situation in Albania, which he went on to expand immensely and was highly regarded for. He was later awarded an MBE by Prince Charles of England. (I later discovered that John had learnt Hypnosis at the Proudfoot School of Hypnosis & Psychotherapy).
This course was helpful in understanding the standard framework for Counseling Skills, as viewed through the eyes of the conventional application of helping people with early signs of psychological issues.
Certified Master Hypnotist & Certified Master Hypnotherapist (Proudfoot School of Hypnosis & Psychotherapy)
I was taught the skills of Hypnosis and then further the application of hypnosis in Hypnotherapy by Wilfred Proudfoot. Wilf was a great man who came from a relatively poor family, was involved in retail, radio, served in the English Royal Air Force and even had a few spells in British politics. By the time that I had the pleasure to find him, his main love and focus were teaching hypnosis and hypnotherapy. Wilf had learned hypnosis directly from Gil Boyne in America, who was himself a famed pioneer in modern hypnotherapy, blending Eriksonian hypnosis and Gestalt therapy. Indeed it showed as Wilf was a true master in these skills, and I am very proud to have been taught by him.
Wilf never stopped learning and soon expanded his knowledge into the rapidly growing subject of Neuro-Linguistic Programming (commonly referred to as NLP). Just as in his Hypnosis and Hypnotherapy training, Wilf learned his skills directly from the best, namely Virginia Satir, John Grinder, Steve & Connirae Andreas. Again, Wilf showed great excellence in these techniques. Like Wilf, I also kept up to date with these new advances in psychotherapy and continued my study under him in the subject of NLP. Wilf went on to train hundreds of practitioners and spoke at many conventions around the world. I will never forget him!
Later I studied further into Analytical Hypnotherapy. Perhaps due to my own early years, I was particularly interested in the subject of psychological issues that developed from childhood. The concept was that psychological symptoms were a result of a damaged child who was still carrying unnecessary hurt from previous events into their adulthood. In Analytical Hypnotherapy, this concept is discovered and healed to resolve, allowing the client to eradicate the cause and therefore the effect.
